Obituary for Bob Scarbrough
Bob R. Scarbrough, local attorney, was born in Olustee, Oklahoma on December 29th, 1926, the son of Archie Scarbrough and Hazel Warren Manuel, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Jenna Scarbrough, to whom he married on May 5, 1962. He lived in Altus all of his adult life and was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Oklahoma State Bar Association and BPOE. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and was General Counsel for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority during Governor George Nigh's administration. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Infantry Overseas Service in Italy, and also served on active duty with the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Infantry in Korea. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1969 as a Lt. Colonel.

Memorials can be made to the Oklahoma Bar Association Scholarship fund, the Bob R. Scarbrough Memorial Fund of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Altus, or the American Lung Association.

Survivors include: his wife, Jenna of the home in Altus; two brothers, Don Scarbrough of Marvell, AR and Jerry Knox of Altus, OK; a sister, Sara Manuel Mott of Midland, TX; step-father, Kenneth Manuel of Big Springs, TX; step-mother, Frances Scarbrough of Altus, OK; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his Mother, Hazel Scarbrough; his Father, Archie Scarbrough.
