Obituary for Bobbie Jean Dudeck
Bobbie Jean Dudeck, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born on November 14, 1929, in Sentinel, Oklahoma, to James and Pauline Tatum. Raised in the close-knit community of Sentinel, Bobbie was a proud graduate of Sentinel High School and went on to study at Southwestern University.
In Altus, Oklahoma, she met and married the love of her life, Robert K. Dudeck. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and joy. Their journey took them across the country, from Altus to Blair, Norman, and ultimately to Mission, Texas, where they found a second home. Bobbie and Robert became known as "snowbirds," enjoying the warmth of southern Texas during the colder months. They often said, "We know more people here than back in Oklahoma," a testament to the many friends they made along the way. The Dudeck's shared a passion for travel. Together, they explored the world, visiting Germany, Italy, and Spain, and enjoyed several cruises, always eager for new experiences. Bobbie was an active member of the Hidden Valley Ranch community in Mission, where she found both peace and purpose.
Later in life, Bobbie and Robert returned to Oklahoma, settling in Edmond.
Bobbie's life was a testament to love, loyalty, and adventure. Her sense of humor and unwavering spirit made her a cherished presence to all who knew her. She often remarked with a smile that, though a little older than her beloved Robert, she was "supposed to go first." It seems, however, she defied that notion, holding on until the very end to be with him in spirit. Bobbie was the last of her immediate family, and she often commented with quiet reflection that she would be the last to go. Now, reunited with Robert, her parents, and her siblings, she is at peace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pauline Tatum; her husband, Robert K. Dudeck, who passed away on August 23, 2023; and her siblings: Nelda Bowie, Mary Robinson, Alice Holland, and James Tatum Jr.
Bobbie leaves behind her loving son, Billy Starr, his wife Ruth, and their daughter Tara. To them, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose love and wisdom will continue to guide them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2024 at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
Services are under the care direction of Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
