Obituary for Bobbie Jean Williams
A Celebration of Life Service for Bobbie Jean Williams age 81, of Mangum is scheduled for 11am Friday February 9, 2018 at the Abundant Life Baptist Church in Mangum, Oklahoma. Pastor Stephen Clark will be officiating, and interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Mangum, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Bobbie was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on September 7, 1936 to Author (A.C.) and Mary Alice (Bailey) Strickland. She spent much of her early years living in Vinson, Oklahoma. When Bobbie was at the tender age of 13, her mother passed away. This tragedy helped Bobbie to solidify her ambitions of being the best daughter and then becoming the best wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could ask for. On August 24, 1952, at the age of 15, Bobbie married the love of her life Cleo Williams. They proceeded to build their lives together in Mangum with great love for their Creator and for each other. Bobbie and Cleo had 2 sons, Michael and Stanley. They raised these two boys to become fine gentlemen and instilled into them an eternal love for God and family. Bobbie started working at the Mangum City Hospital in the early 1970’s as a scrub tech until her retirement from the hospital in the late 1990’s. Bobbie was a strong woman that everyone turned to in their hour of need. She was the backbone of this great family. Faith and family was everything to Bobbie. Her faith in Christ helped her live a life without the daily burdens of this world. This faith was shown greatly in 2011 when both her beloved husband Cleo and her first born son Stanley were called back to God.
She was preceded in death her Mother, Mary Alice Strickland, her father, A.C. Strickland, Stepmother, Dolly Strickland, brothers, Isaac Strickland, J.B. Strickland, and Bennie Strickland; Sisters Minnie Opal Strickland and Marie Strickland. Husband Cleo Williams, and Son Stanley Williams.
She is survived by her son Michael Williams of Mangum, Oklahoma; grandchildren; Rob Williams and Carol of Edmond, Oklahoma, Angi Young and Floyd of Mangum, Oklahoma and Allie Williams of Mangum, Oklahoma.
