Obituary for Bobby Dwaine King
Bobby Dwaine King, 83, resident of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at his home.

Mr. King was born December 14, 1936 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Lowell King and Florence (Black) King. As a child Bobby was raised and educated in the Wellington and Dodson, Texas area.

Following High school Bobby enlisted in the United States Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Lyman K. Swenson as a gunner. During his Naval career he traveled to the Philippians, New Zealand, Thailand, and China.

On May 14, 1976 Bobby married the love of his life Teresia Irene King. Together they enjoyed two stepping, buying and selling antiques, attending church and spending time with their family.

Bobby worked for American Smelting and Refining Company, (Asarco). While working at the refinery, Bobby turned 2,000-degree molten metal into thick slabs and coils suitable for manufacturing. He was a proud union member of the United Steelworker's Union, serving as a treasurer and as a picket line captain. Bobby retired from Asarco Steel in 1998. In 2001, Mr. and Mrs. King moved to Mangum, Oklahoma to enjoy their retirement.

Bobby was a devote catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Mangum, Oklahoma. He volunteered his time at the Oklahoma State Reformatory working in prison ministry.

Bobby is survived by his three sons, Alan Stripling, Cliff Schraag and Ross King; Two daughters; Patricia Stripling, Melody Cearley and wife Shelley Pickens; Brother, Gary King; Five grandchildren, Gary Cearley, Bobby Cearley, Jordan Schraag, Rachel Ashley, and Jason Ashley; nine great- grandchildren, and Bobby's constant companion his dog, Dunnit.

He was preceded in death by his parents; His wife of over forty years, Teresia Irene King.

A rosary service will be held from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Greer Funeral Home, in Mangum, Oklahoma.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, interment will follow at White Flat Cemetery, in Mangum, Oklahoma.

Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
