Bonnie Faye (Greer) Hobbs, age 94, long time resident of Mangum went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 20, 2023.
Bonnie was born on March 20, 1929, in Granite, Oklahoma to Lee and Bonnie Greer. She grew up in Warren Oklahoma before her family moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from High School. On January 16, 1953, she married the love of her life, P.M. Hobbs, Jr., in Mangum and spent the next fifty-five wonderful years together before his death in 2008. Between 1965 and 1982, they ran Hobbs’ Grocery and Market. After that, she transitioned into her next adventure working at the various banks in Mangum where she greeted everyone with an affectionate “Hey Baby” until she finally retired in 2019.
Her pride and joy were her two boys John and Rick, who arrived to her and P.M. in 1960 and 1962. She was a wonderful mother, and her boys would often recount the various trips that she took them on throughout their early years.
In her spare time, she was an avid bridge and domino player, regularly having foursomes at the house and playing for hours. Bonnie was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Mangum where she served many years as the church treasurer. She also loved going fishing whenever she could. But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband P.M. and her son John Lee. She is survived by her son, Richard and wife Barbara of Amarillo, TX; daughter-in-law Lisa Hobbs of Edmond, OK; three grandchildren, Jennifer Kyllingstad and husband Sam of Edmond, OK; Paul Hobbs and wife Arpita Saha of Denver, CO; and Maddisan Hobbs of Palmdale, CA; and two greatgrandchildren: Eli and Kate Kyllingstad of Edmond, OK.
