Obituary for Bonnie Joanne Parker
Bonnie Joanne (McKinley)Parker, age 57, of Mangum, Oklahoma was born on May 9, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas to Robert and Beverly (Jones) McKinley. She passed from this life on Sunday April 22, 2018 surrounded by her children. Her dad was in the Air Force and the family was stationed at Travis AFB in California where she began her school years. They eventually were stationed at Altus AFB & in 1978 she graduated from Altus high school. After high school Bonnie was hired by CR Anthony's Dept Store as their district manager for the displays. Later on Bonnie worked for JCMH where she earned employee of the year. She married her soul mate Sammy Parker on Sept 1, 1983. Together they raised sons Brice and Chase. Sammy and Bonnie were very active in the community. They owned and operated several businesses along with being parents to Mangum Class of 2006. She ultimately fell in love with the history of Hamburger Inn and dedicated the next 22 years carrying on the HBI tradition. In 2011 Bonnie began her battle with cancer. She was a fighter for 7 years and never backed down. She truly enjoyed crafting, playing the piano, and spending time with her family especially her 2 grand kids. Bonnie had the most caring heart and would have done anything for anybody. We are so grateful for the memories.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Sammy Parker, her father Robert McKinley, and her niece Jessica McKinley. She is survived by her sons Brice with wife Joy of Mangum, Chase with wife Te'onna of El Reno, her grandsons Mason and Tyson of Mangum, her mother Beverly McKinley of Altus, Her brothers Billy McKinley and wife Brenda of Okmulgee, Robert McKinley and his wife ­­­­­­­Cindy, nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends.
