Brian Keith Bechtel, a man whose life was a testament to love, service, and quiet strength, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by the legacy he built and the family he cherished. A longtime resident of Blair, Brian's journey began on May 15, 1958, in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he was born to Gerald Amos Bechtel and Shirley (Boyer) Bechtel. From the start, his life was shaped by adventure, duty, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

True to his roots, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, honoring his family's legacy while forging his own path. Brian excelled earning numerous awards for his dedication and skill . Yet his greatest reward came overseas when he met Denise Wenrich, the love of his life and soul mate .
After his honorable discharge, Brian continued serving his country through civil service, settling in Oklahoma he worked for flight safety . But beyond his career, Brian's heart thrived in the simplicity of life's joys: casting a line into serene waters, wandering forests on hunting trips, camping under starlit skies, and feeling the freedom of the open road on his Harley-Davidson. Those who knew him best will remember his kindness, fairness, and gentle stubbornness-a man who listened more than he spoke, yet whose actions spoke volumes.
Above all, Brian's greatest pride and joy were his family. As "Pop pop ," he poured boundless love into his five grandchildren. sharing with them his passion for nature, storytelling, and life's simple wonders. Whether teaching them to fish, spoiling them with treats, or simply watching them play, every moment with his grandchildren was a treasure . His eyes sparkled brightest in their presence, a reflection of the legacy he leaves behind.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Shirley, as well as his "Brother" Uncle David Bechtel whose values of resilience and loyalty he carried forward. He is survived by his devoted wife, Denise Bechtel; his son, Jarred and his wife; his daughter, Skyy and her husband ; his sister Brenda Betchel and his five adoring grandchildren, Zia, Zoey,Conner, April and Asher,His memory will also live on in the countless lives he touched through his quiet generosity, steadfast principles, and the love that anchored his family.
A true patriot and family man, Brian Bechtel's story is one of humble greatness-a life woven with duty, adventure, and an unshakable devotion to home. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit rides on in the wind, and lingers in the laughter of his grandchildren. In the end even being a disabled veteran he would roll with the punches . He didn't let being wheel chair bound hold him back he still searched for Bigfoot .
