Bydler W "BW" Bobo, age 77, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018. Bydler was born on May 19, 1940, in Petersburg, WV to Presley and Nettie (Whetzel) Bobo. He graduated from Petersburg High School in 1958. He enlisted in the US Air Force in February 1962. He married Dottie Jo VanMeter on June 11, 1960. They have two sons, Robert Bobo and Brian Bobo.
Bydler proudly served in the US Air Force for 24 years, retiring in February 1986 as a MSgt. His Air Force career took him to Greenville, SC; Savannah, GA; Dover, DE; Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Viet Nam; Hampton, VA; Thailand and Altus, OK. He started a second career in April 1997 with the Civil Service "A" Team at Altus AFB as an aircraft mechanic, retiring from this job in August 2015.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Altus and served as an usher and greeter. He loved spending time with his family and especially his sons during their college football days. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a former member of the Altus Bass Masters Club. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, golf and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gene Bobo, and mother and father-in-law, Josephine and Robert Williams. He is survived by his wife Dottie of Altus, sons Robert Bobo and wife Tracey of Rockwall, TX, and Brian Bobo and wife Cammie of Hutchinson, KS. He is also survived by grandchildren, Braden and Regan Bobo, Rockwall, TX and Braxton and Brityn Bobo of Hutchinson, KS. Two sisters, Darlene Farris and husband Tom of Fort Worth, TX, and Carol Demcak and husband Jack of Ranchos Palos Verde, CA.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus.
Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
