C. Lucretia DeVore, a longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away on January 26, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas.
On October 4th, 1938 in Humphries, Oklahoma, Wesley David and Crittie Cleo (Cox) Rogers celebrated the birth of their fourth child, Cleo Lucretia DeVore. Lucretia was raised and educated in Altus, Oklahoma. She graduated from Altus High School in 1956. On October 2nd, 1956, Lucretia married John David McNeill. This marriage would be blessed with three children, Cathy, Kim, and Ty. Lucretia worked as a deputy court clerk of Jackson County and truly enjoyed helping people. Upon hearing about Lucretia's move, the Office of the State Auditor recruited her to work as a district court clerk specialist. At all times at work and in her personal life, Lucretia exuded grace and kindness, traits that many have repeatedly expressed. Lucretia had many hobbies, but one of her favorites was shopping for her home. She was always able to find amazing deals and took pride in making her home a comfortable place for family and friends. As a diversion, she and Ted also enjoyed going to the casinos hoping to win big! Of all her hobbies and interests, everything she did was about her family, especially her children. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. Above all else, Lucretia leaves a legacy of grace, kindness, and love for her family.
