Carl B. Grimes, 72, died Tuesday, June 8, 1993 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for 2:00pm Friday, June 11 at the Altus Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the Hess Community Cemetery. Grant Groves will officiate. Lowell-Tims funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carl was born November 23, 1920 in Hess, Oklahoma of pioneer parents B.J. Grimes and Nettie Beach Grimes. He served 5 years on the Jackson County Selective Service Board, was elected chairman of the Jackson County Agricultural Stablization and Conservation Committee for 7 years. Served on the Jackson County Fair Board for 24 years. And was formerly assistant loan officer of the Farmers Home Administration.

Carl is survived by one son Carlton and wife Rebeckah of Altus, Oklahoma; one grandson, Branson Joshua Grimes of Altus, Oklahoma; three cousins, Ray Tommy and Lynn Beach of Jackson County.
