Obituary for Carmello Torres
Carmello Torres, age 67 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Carmello was born in Mexico on February 23, 1954. He was raised in Mexico and in his early 20's he moved to Altus, Oklahoma to make a better life for himself. He gained employment in the cotton industry where has worked the fields and cotton gins for many years. Carmello was faithful to the Catholic Church and he attended the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus. He enjoyed taking trips to Mexico to visit family, he enjoyed being outside in the sunshine, and he loved his family and spending time with his grandkids.
Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Carmello is survived by three sons, Angel Torres; Mario Torres; and Marcos Torres all of Altus; four brothers; one sister; four grandchildren, Jose, Ismael, Carmello, and Adalyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Catholic Graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Altus City Cemetery in Altus with Rev. Fr. Joseph David officiating.
Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus.
