Obituary for Carol Jean Casey
Carol Jean (White) Casey, 74, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at The Courtyards at Magnolia Creek Memory Care Assisted Living. The Casey family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Josh Haugt. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Born on January 12, 1951, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Lee Edward White and Lela Bell (Morris) White, Carol dedicated much of her life to caring for others. After high school, she worked at a local nursing home before marrying Robert Casey on July 13, 1973, in Anadarko. The couple then made their home in Altus, where Carol embraced roles as a homemaker and a compassionate caregiver for elderly clients through state-provided services. Later, she served as a housekeeper at the hospital on Altus Air Force Base, retiring in January 2016 after many years of faithful service.
A devoted animal lover, Carol's home was often filled with furry companions-at times housing six cats and five dogs simultaneously. Her playful naming sense shone with her three black cats from the same litter: Knight, Midnight, and Quarter-till Midnight (the latter sporting a distinctive white spot). Her dogs ranged from Ankles, a spirited border collie, to Peanut, a loyal dachshund, and Lady, a tiny but mighty chihuahua.
Beyond her love for animals, Carol was the quintessential doting grandmother, spoiling her grandchildren with summer trips to water parks, train rides at Lake Lugert, and even ice cream for breakfast-all delivered with endless affection and a cheerful disregard for rules.
A longtime member of Altus Christian Fellowship (later Thrive Church), Carol served faithfully in the nursery and contributed to numerous church projects. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Stephen Lee White; four brothers, Lawerence, Elmer, Cecil and Bill; and two sisters, Lela Mae Underwood and Frances Norton.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Robert; a son Charles Wayne Casey and wife Tina, a daughter Jennifer Lee Riffle and husband Michael; three sisters, Nita McDowell, Joan Guinn and partner Kenneth Nickell, and Patricia Oneal and partner Steve Chiles; six grandchildren, Stephen Hinojosa and wife Morgan, Michael Casey, Bradly Casey and husband David, Spenser Casey and wife Elizabeth, Charlie Saenz and partner Devin Reyes, and Rachel Riffle; and ten great grandchildren, Ashton Hinojosa, Addison Hinojosa, Caitlin Casey, Michael Casey, Ryland Casey, Juliet Morgan, Camrin Casey, Drew Carter, Taegan Reyes and Keedan Reyes; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Altus Animal Welfare Association, 2204 Enterprise Drive, Altus, Oklahoma.
