Obituary for Carol Marie Cline Skinner
Carol Marie Skinner, age 89, passed away July 18, 1999 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Services are scheduled for 10:00am , Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
She was born April 1, 1910 to Henry and Ida Ellen Cline at Elgin, Oklahoma. She graduated from Fletcher High School. She married James Dee Skinner June 4 1928 at Lawton, Oklahoma.
They moved to Altus in 1933 where he was a Champlin Oil distributor and was a Chrylser-Plymouth dealer.
She was a member of Elm and Hudson Church of Christ, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Altus Porcelain China Club, and a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Altus Golf and Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Skinner in 1984 and a son, Harold in 1998.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lanita and Guy Southall of Altus; one daughter-in-law Wanda Skinner of Altus; four sisters, Gladys Corzine of Mt. View, California, Verna Whatley of Duncan, Oklahoma, Joy McLaughlin of Plan, Texas, and Ina Martin of Henrietta, Texas; four grandchildren, Robert Skinner of Carlsbad, new Mexico, Frances Holman of Altus, Oklahoma, Lisa Litsch of Lubbock, Texas, and Sandy Major of Stillwater, Oklahoma; fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family will have visitation Monday, July, 1999 from 6:30pm until 8:00pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
