Carrol Ray Wynn, age 71, of Mangum, passed away Monday evening, September 25, 2017, at Mangum Regional Medical Center, in Mangum.
Mr. Wynn was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on May 25, 1946, to Otis Allen and Colleen Esther (Haddock) Wynn. Growing up in Mangum, he attended Mangum School and began carpentry and roofing construction at a young age. During the late 60"s and early 70"s, Carrol Ray served his country for six years in the Army National Guard. A longtime employee of Scott"s Construction, Carrol built many homes in the Greer County area. On August 13, 1971, he married Theresa Antoinette Thomas and they spent the next forty-six wonderful years together before his death. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, was his most enjoyable pastime.
Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Jean Wynn, he is survived by his wife, Theresa, of the home; five children, Sylvia Potts of Panama, Oklahoma, Joanna Carpenter and husband Wade of Tennessee, Joseph Wynn and wife Naomi of Texas, Randy Ray Wynn of Mangum and Nellie Munoz of Mangum; two sisters, Irene Davis and husband Rob of Branson, Missouri and Gayle Johnson and husband Gene of Branson, Missouri; one brother, Allen Wynn and wife Lisa of Sayre, Oklahoma; twenty-four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Carrol Wynn will be at 10 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2017, at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, with Shawn Johnson and Shawn Laughlin officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, of Mangum.
