Obituary for Carolina Rosas Bara
Carolina Rosas Bara, long-time Altus resident, passed away peacefully at her home on November 21, 2021. She was 93 years old at the time of her passing.
Carolina was born on November 15, 1928 in Menard, Texas to her parents, Fermin Rosas Sr. and Geronima Rosas. She worked in the home and raised her family ensuring that all their needs were met.
Carolina was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She loved working in her gardens, enjoyed music and liked all sports. She was especially passionate about her two favorite teams: the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners. Family was the most important thing to Carolina. She was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren! Although the family was big, her love for each one of her family members was bigger. Her presence will be missed by all.
Carolina was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Carolina Bara; two sons: Freddy Plata and Raymond Bara; three brothers, and five sisters.
Remaining to carry on her beloved memory are her two sons: Roy Plata and his wife, Lupe; and David Bara and his wife, MaryLou; her daughters: Rosalinda Mendoza and husband, Paul; Elsa Garcia and husband, Perfecto; Era Fortenberry and husband, Tim (All of Altus); Alma Briscoe and husband, Tim of Lawton, OK; and Eva Reyes of Lubbock, TX; her many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to hospice and the nurses Suzane, Katy, Jena, Chaplain Erin Martinez, Dr. Daewood, Dr. Tran and all the staff of Jackson County Memorial Hospice that went above and beyond. God Bless you all.
