Carolyn Elaine Quayle, age 66, a resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma. She was born October 22, 1954 in Grover City, California. Carolyn was raised and educated on different air force bases across the country before moving to Altus, Oklahoma at the age fifteen. She fell in love with Altus and made it her forever home.

While working as a bank teller for the credit union at Altus Air Force base, she helped Allan Quayle open a new account. From this chance encounter her life would never be the same. The two married on April 18, 1981 in Altus, Oklahoma. Carolyn earned her master's degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma. She worked as a social worker at Altus Air Force Base. Carolyn was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, camping, traveling, and was an avid reader.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Allan Leslie Quayle in 2017; her mother, Joy Menges in 2004; her father, F.E. Menges in 1972, and a brother, Dana Madsen in 2006.

She is survived by her son, Scott Allan Quayle and wife Jenn; two grandsons Travis and Brandon Jones; and a sister, Barbara Moyer.

A memorial service will be held at 10: 00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
