Obituary for Carolyn Faye Crawford
Carolyn Faye Crawford, 70, of Altus, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.
Carolyn was born August 3, 1939 in Altus, Oklahoma, the second child of Earl and Lola (Raglin) Hazzard. She graduated from Lincoln High in Altus in 1957. She married C.C. Crawford July 5, 1974, in Vernon, Texas. Carolyn worked at Kellwood for over twenty years, and then she worked at the downtown Dollar General Store for eleven years. She was the store manager for the last five years before illness forced her to retire. Carolyn was a devoted mother, wife, and grandma. She was a faithful member and worker in her church, the Greater Love Ministries of Church of God in Christ. She also contributed her time and devotion to her community.
Preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother, Oscar M. "Sonny" Hazzard, and two aunts, Bothena Curry and Rosie Evans, she is survived by her loving husband, C.C. Crawford, of the home in Altus; three sons, Ralph Curry, Jr. and wife Jacqueline of Altus, Brian L. Curry of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and Christopher E. Crawford of Metairie, Louisiana; her brother, Jimmy Hazzard and wife Melba of Altus; two grandsons, Ralph E. Curry and Ramon M. Curry, both of Altus; one granddaughter, Latesha Curry of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren, Anijah T. Watkins Curry of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and Ralph M. Curry of Altus; a sister-in-law, Mary Crawford of Oklahoma City, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Known to everyone who loved and knew her as "Miss Carolyn", her family was very important to her. Her sons were referred to as "Carolyn"s Boys", and she would call them number one, number two, and number three. Miss Carolyn"s outgoing personality and wonderful sense of humor made her a friend to everyone. She had a strong and loving heart, which was the last to go. Miss Carolyn, you will truly be missed.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 5, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services for Carolyn Crawford will be held 11:00 a.m. July 6, 2010, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Elder Robert E. Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
