Obituary for Carrifae Mount
Services for Carrifae Mount, age 69, of Norman, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 1992 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma with the Rev. Phil Fenn officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery at Altus under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mount died on Saturday, April 11th, 1992 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born on January 25th, 1923 to Grady and Della Russell at Altus. She graduated from high school in 1940 and the University of Oklahoma in 1945 with a BA degree in Fine Arts. She attended Pasadena Playhouse. She married Roy Mount, Jr. on October 21, 1945 at Altus, OK. In Altus, she was active in the Methodist Church, McDowell Club of Allied Arts, Aldonian Club, American Legion Auxiliary, The Girl Scouts, The PTA and the American Association of University Women. In 1959 she moved to Norman where she earned her Master in Education. She was employed by the University of Oklahoma for 10 years, active in the McFarlin United Methodist Church, the Girl Scouts, the Chi Omega Alumni and the American Association of University Women. She moved with her husband to Germany where they lived for seven years. Since her return to Norman, she was active in the Democratic Party, Planned Parenthood, Newcomer's Club, Literacy Council, Historical Society, the Firehouse Art Gallery and Friends of Literacy. Travel, family and friends always were most important to Mrs. Mount.

She is survived by: her husband Roy of the home; her mother, Della Russell of Ft. Cobb; a son, Bill Russell of Norman; a daughter, D'Anne Mount of Seattle, WA; a sister, Vivian Anderson of New Braunfels, TX; and a brother, Loyd Russell of Cuchara, CO.

She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Merrily Mount in 1947; her father; a brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested Food for Friends in care of McFarlin United Methodist Church of Norman as appropriate for memorial contributions.
