Obituary for Cecil Max Purdy
Cecil "Max" Purdy, age 59 of Altus, passed away March 27, 2003 at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus are set for 11:00a, Monday, March 31, 2003 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery. Rev. Doug Burr will officiate. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm.

Max was born May 23, 1943 at Altus, Oklahoma to parents Cecil and Margaret Whitley Purdy. he grew up and attended school in Altus. Max want on to Oklahoma state University, where he received a degree in Veterinary Medicine. For many years Max enjoyed a successful practice and was the owner and operator of the Animal Medical Center on North Main in Altus. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Altus and was a member of the Registered Brangus Association.

Max is survived by his parents, Cecil and Margaret Purdy of Altus; One son, John and wife Jamie Purdy of Altus; Two daughters, Joy Scales and husband Joe of Blacksburg, Virginia and Heather Hughes and husband James of Blackburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Jessica Scales, Jacob Scales, Lee Ann Hughes, river Hughes and Andrew Hughes and many close friends.
