Obituary for Cecil Ray Cary
Graveside services for Cecil Ray Cary, 60, former Altus resident have been scheduled for 10 am Saturday at the Altus City Cemetery. Sonny Tims will be officiating and arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.
Mr. Cary passed away Wednesday, November 15, 1995 at his home in Albuquerque, N. M. He was born October 28, 1935 in Elmer, Oklahoma, the son of Cecil A. and Sadie A. (Shaw) Cary. He was a 1954 graduate of Altus High School. He worked as a Photojournalist with the Altus Times Democrat for 2 1/2 years before moving to Albuquerque. Ray was an award winning, well known individual in his field.
Ray was a veteran, having served as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in the United States Army.
Survivors include his brothers, Roy "PeeWee" Cary and Marion of Duncan, Oklahoma; Terry G. Cary of Altus, Oklahoma; sister Lucille Rogers of Hanahan, S.C.; 3 nephews, Tim Rogers of Charleston, S.C.; Scott Cary of Duncan, Oklahoma; Chris Cary of Altus, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, niece, Carla Rogers.
