Services for Charles A. Nichols are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 1998 at the First Baptist Church of Altus. Rev Keith Wiginton will officiate with interment following at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Charles A. Nichols was born November 12th, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Howard and Lessie (Smith) Nichols. He died June 12, 1998 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Charles A. Nichols married Alice Gayle Walker, June 25, 1949 and she preceded him in death May 6, 1992. Charles was a lifelong resident of Altus and Jackson County. He farmed his entire life. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. Charles also served on the Jackson County Fair Board for many years and was awarded the Outstanding Alumni by the Altus F.F.A.

Survivors include: three children, Mike Nichols and wife Carol of Binger, OK, Melinda King and husband Bobby of Altus, OK and Mark Nichols and wife Christy also of Altus, OK; two sisters, LaDoris Malena of Altus, OK and Dorothy Ely of Dallas, TX; one brother, Howard Nichols, Jr. of Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren, Brian, Kenda, Kimberly, Dustin, Bradley, Brett, Reid, Kristin and Morgan.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Gayle Nichols and by his parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
