Charles Cody "Charlie" McClure, age 41 of Granite, Oklahoma, found peace with The Lord Thursday, March 13, 2013 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Charlie was born in Heidelberg, Germany on October 15, 1972 to Glen Thomas McClure and Carolyn Ann Wilson. Charlie grew up in Granite where he attended Granite Public School graduating with the class of 1990. After high school Charlie attended Western Technology Center in Burns Flat where he earned a certification in auto mechanics. Most of Charlie's working career was spent in the oilfield.
Charlie was a devoted and loving father and was proud of the achievements of his children Faith and Carson, From his grandpa Cody Charlie inherited a love of fishing, hunting, raisin cream pie and cooking on the grill. He was always ready and willing to feed a crowd of family or friends. A true country boy, Charlie learned about horses, cattle and working the land as a young man and he always dreamed of having a farm of his own.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Cody and Evangeline Wilson, Charlie is survived by his mother Carolyn Wilson of Mangum, his wife Sherry, children Faith and Carson, step-daughter Savannah, his friend and mother of his children Lisa McClure and his father Glen McClure of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Charlie is also survived by his aunts Norma Williams of Mangum and Judy Bowman of Foster, Oklahoma and cousins Mindi, Gabriella and Gemma Gutierrez of Norman, Oklahoma and Rachael, Lianna and Oran Smith of Foster, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 17, 2014 at the City Cemetery in Granite, Oklahoma under the direction of Greer Funeral Home-Granite, Oklahoma.
Memorial donations may be made to the Granite Public School Library in honor of Charlie McClure.
