Obituary for Charles Melvin Gibson
Mr. Charles Melvin Gibson, age 77, of Altus, OK, died Thursday, January 25, 1968 at the Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Funeral services will be held on January 28, 1968, 4:00 P.M., Tims Chapel of Memories, with the Reverend Gene Garrison officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Gibson married the former Mary M. McIntosh on February 21, 1912 in Bland, MO. He had been a rancher in Colorado for 43 years and had lived in Pueblo, CO. He had lived in Altus for two years having moved here from Colorado.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Zelma Trafton of Fairbanks, Alaska, Mrs. Burt Tilley of Denver, CO, Mrs. Fratie Jackson of Cayce, SC and Mrs. Hoyle Curtis of Altus; three sons, C. M. Gibson, Jr. of Kennewick, WA, M. E. Gibson of Lubbock, TX and Glenn C. Gibson of Fairbanks, Alaska; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Taylor of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Mary Davis of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
