Obituary for Charles Ray
Charles Ray, 67, 0f Altus passed away Friday, November 5, 1999 at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born September 24, 1932 in Little Rock, Arkansas t Tcora and the late Silas Ray. Following graduation from Dunbar High School, Charles enlisted in the United States Army where he served two years. After his discharge from the Army he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
He retired in 1979 after 20 years of service. He worked at Altus Air Force Base in Civil Service position. He retired in 1998 after 19 years.
Charles and Ethel Ray were united in marriage on June 5, 1961 in Vernon Texas.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of the home, Ethelene Ray; mother, Tcora Walker of Muskegon, Michigan, five children Remon Solomon of Altus, Oklahoma, Elizabeth A. Culpepper and husband Marcus of Ft. Worth, Texas, Charles A. Ray and wife Pam of Altus, Oklahoma, Stephen M. Ray and wife Cathy of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and David D. Ray and wife Regina of Norman, Oklahoma; one sister, Brends Kirsey of Muskegon, Michigan and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 10, 1999 at 2:00pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dana Rhodes and Elder William Conway officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery with military honors. arrangements are under the direction os Lowell-Tims Funera Home.
Family will have visitation Tuesday evening November 9, 1999 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
