On August 17, 1973, Charlie married Barabra McDonald in Wellington, Texas. Soon after Charlie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. This action built the foundation of the man he would become. He proudly served his country from 1974 to 1976. Charles attended basic training at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. During his time in the Corps, he served in warehouse maintenance and management. This job helped to see that all Charlie’s fellow Marines all received the proper gear and that it was well maintained. Charlie always willing to help and had a generous heart and spirit. After leaving the Corps, Charles and Barbara returned home to Mangum, Oklahoma to raise their children and be near their family. In 1993, Charlie started working for Mangum Brick as a kilnman operator. He loved working at Mangum Brick and took great pride knowing his bricks were being used as the foundation of so many households across the state and country. Charlie was medical retired from his position in 2012. In his free time and retirement Charlie relished camping, fishing, reading a good book, and riding the backroads with his sons. He loved his family more than life itself and cherished every moment he had with them. He worked hard to install the same fountains in his sons that were installed by his father.
