Obituary for Chris Gene Walls
Former Altus resident, Chris Gene Walls, age 39, of Midland, TX was born November 28th, 1956, in Altus, Oklahoma, the son of Travis Gene and Betty LaJune (Byrd) Walls. He attended Altus High School, graduating with the Class of 1975. Later he attended WOSC. Chris passed away Sunday, June 30th, 1996, in Midland, TX after a brief illness.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 1996, in the First Baptist Church, Altus, Oklahoma, with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
On August 28, 1976, he and Rebecca Louise (Becky) (Coxwell) were united in marriage in Altus, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death, January 3, 1988. Chris moved to Midland in 1981 where he was employed as a welder for Hobbs Trailers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas.
Survivors include: his Father, Travis Gene Walls of Altus, Oklahoma; his Mother, Betty LaJune (Byrd) Walls, also of Altus, Oklahoma; two children, Chris Gene Walls, Jr. and Michelle Louise Walls, both of Midland, TX; one sister, Kerri Perry and husband Alan of Chickasha, OK; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Charles and Jane Coxwell of Acworth, GA; four brother-in-laws, Bill Edde Acworth of GA, Mike Edde of Hiram, GA, Richard Coxwell of Smyrna, TN and Charles Coxwell, Jr. of Acworth, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Rebecca Louise Walls - January 3, 1988; a sister, Susan Renee Walls - February 25, 1955.
