Obituary for Clara Bell Scalf
Services for Clara Bell Scalf, 87, longtime Altus resident have been scheduled for 11 am Saturday, March 1, 1997 at the Southside Baptist Church with Rev. C.W. Parker and Rev. Chris Alford officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Clara was born March 2, 1909, in Naples, Texas. She was the daughter of Robert Lee and Jo Ella (Arp) Peek. On July 3, 1925, Clara H. M. "Doc" Scalf were united in marriage at Matoy, Ok. Mrs. Scalf moved to the Altus Area in 1942 from Durant, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. Clara was very family oriented and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and embroidery. She enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children; Faye Parsley of Elmer, Oklahoma; Floyd Scalf and Lorene of Vernon, Texas; Cora Smith and C.R. of Tiline, Kentucky; Haskell Scalf and Evaline of Altus, Oklahoma; Gerald Scalf and Julia of Cordell, Oklahoma; Wayland Scalf and Debbie of Altus, Oklahoma; LaHonda Carter and Mike of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brothers: Clarence Peek of mesquite, Texas; R.L. Reek of Sacramento, California; sisters; Ella Mae Ledbetter of Olustee, Oklahoma; Ola Mae Piper of Missouri; Velma Dollins of Altus, Oklahoma; Annie Withrow of Ukiah, California; 20 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 9 great-greatgrandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband; one daughter, Sharon Kay; 2 sons James Ray "Little Man" Scalf ; Bill Scalf; 1 granddaughter, Jacqualine Scalf; 2 great grandsons, Arron, Mark; 1 sister Euna Ledbetter.
