Obituary for Cleo Wayne Bilbrey
Cleo Wayne Bilbrey, lifelong Jackson County resident, passed away at his home in Duke, Oklahoma on October 2, 2001 at the age of 68. Services are scheduled for 10:00am Thursday, October 4, 2001 at the Lowell-Tims funeral Home Chapel in Altus. The Rev. Keith Gillham will officiate and burial will follow at Rock Cemetery in Duke.

Cleo was born to Porter and Alice (Merchant) Bilbrey on July 7, 1933 in Olustee, Oklahoma. Cleo and Helen Pickens Alexander were united in marriage in Altus on June 23, 1977. They enjoyed many happy years of marriage. Cleo worked as a farmer and rancher and was active in many things. He served on the Board of Directors of Farmers and Merchants Bank of Duke, was active at the First Baptist Church of Duke, was on the Board of Directors of the Jackson County Conservation District, was a member of the Oklahoma and Kansas Cattlemans Association, was a past Board member of Duke Farmers CO-OP and Elevator and was a member of the Texas Wildlife Association.

Cleo is survived by his wife, Helen of the home in Duke; children, Robert Alexander and wife, Marsha, of duke, Kathy and husband, Mike Hayter, of Canton, Georgia and Risa and husband, Bob Parker, Jr, of Houston, Texas. he is also survived by his grandchildren; Cara Blackman Cole Hayter, Lauren Hayter, Elizabeth Alexander; two sisters, Vera and Husband Albert Tipton, Jr. of Oklahoma City and Bonnie and husband, Donnie Kirby, of Duke, Oklahoma; nephews, Kent Kirby, Kyle Kirby, Carter Tipton and niece, Nannette Tipton.

Memorials may be made to Rock Cemetery, the First Baptist Church of Duke, or Dr. Nimeh's Cancer Research at 5002 West Lee Blvd. in Lawton, Oklahoma 73501.
