Obituary for Crystal Rose Simpson
SIMPSON
Crystal Rose Simpson, age 57, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Altus, passed away at her home, in Oklahoma City, on Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Born in Altus on July 20, 1951, to Charles and Mary (Hudson) Abernathy, Crystal graduated from Altus High School in 1969. After graduation, she attended Oklahoma University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University before moving to Phoenix, Arizona where she worked as a legal assistant. After moving back to Altus in the late 70"s, she completed her degree at Cameron University, in Lawton, and met the love of her life, Pat Simpson. They were married on March 13, 1982, in Altus, and spent the next twenty-seven wonderful years together before her death. After their marriage, Crystal and Pat owned and operated the Crystal Rose Restaurant and Crystal"s Restaurant, in the Ramada Inn. Crystal later worked at Western Oklahoma State College and owned the Diet Center in Altus before moving to Charleston, South Carolina in 1994. In November 2006, Crystal and Pat moved to Oklahoma City where they made their home until her death. Crystal loved watching Law and Order, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Crystal is survived by her husband, Pat, of the home; her parents, Charles and Mary Abernathy of Altus; one brother, Clint Abernathy and wife Kim of Altus; two step-children, Zack Simpson and wife Jasmine of Sachse, Texas and Tricia Johnson and husband Kai of Carrollton, Texas; three step-grandchildren, Jaxon Simpson of Sachse, Texas, Jake Johnson and Dane Johnson of Carrollton, Texas along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Crystal Rose Simpson will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Player officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday morning from 9 until 10 a.m., just before the service.
