Daniel Dale Gambill, age 24, of Weatherford, formerly of Mangum, passed away late Thursday evening, June 10, 2010, near Shamrock, Texas, in an oil field incident.
Daniel was born on June 7, 1986, in Orange County, California to Roger Dale and Alicia (Cibrian) Gambill. After attending school in California through his junior high years, he moved to Mangum, graduating from Mangum High School in 2004. At the age of sixteen, Daniel began working in the family business, Furniture Showplace, in Granite, where he loved working with wood and making beautiful furniture. In November 2007, he began working in the oil fields. Daniel enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting, and fishing or anything pertaining to the outdoors, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Martha Cibrian, he is survived by his son, Karson Dale Weaver of Elk City; his mother, Alicia Moon and husband Michael of Altus; his father, Roger Gambill and wife Toni of Leonard, Texas; two sisters, Joanna Victoria Gambill of Granite and Leticia Carol Gambill of Mangum; his fianc"e, Kelli Kyle of Mangum; grandparents, Levi and June Gambill of Mangum and Rodrigo Cibrian of Orange County, California along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Daniel Gambill will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Ruben A. Solis officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
The family will greet friends at Greer Funeral Home on Monday from 6 until 7 p.m.
