Obituary for Daniel Roberts Simpson
Dan Simpson passed away September 7, 1997, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in
Altus, Oklahoma at the age of 66.
Dan was born January 18 1931, in Altus to William (Toss) and Frankie (Robert) Simpson. He married Gladys Marie love February 6, 1954, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a life-long resident of Altus and Jackson County. He farmed in the community his entire life. He was a member of the Oklahoma Historical society, a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Altus, and served on the Board of Directors of the Martha Coop Gin. He had also served on the Board of Directors with the Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Simpson of the home in Altus; three children, Danette Romines and her husband Gary of Portland, Oregon, Ernest Simpson and his wife Vicki of Altus, and Todd Simpson and his wife Rebecca, also of Altus; two sisters, Mary Jane Hamende and Marie Bowling, both of Altus; and by five grandchildren, Shon Romines of Commerce, Texas, Devon Simpson of Altua, Brandi Romines of Portland, Oregan, Loran Latham of Altus, and Trey Latham of Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Ernest w. Simpson in 1934.
