Obituary for David Ray Bailey
David Ray Bailey, 82, resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on February 11, 2021, at his home in Altus, Oklahoma.
David was born January 18, 1939, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Lannie Bailey Sr and Blanche I (Darr) Bailey. The Bailey family lived in West Elken, Ohio. After graduating from high school, David joined the United States Air Force in 1957. In 1961, David married Terry L. Parks in Altus, Oklahoma. The Bailey family lived in Thailand, North Dakota, Germany, New Mexico, but Altus, Oklahoma would be their forever home. In 1976, David was retired from the Air Force after twenty years of service to the United States. Soon after retiring, he started his second career working for the Jackson County Irrigation District for over twenty years. He loved working on old cars, especially with his son, Phil. David and Phil completely restored a 1951 Chevrolet pickup truck. David loved to show the truck off and entered the Rock and Rumble several times. He also enjoyed woodworking and made several pieces of beautiful furniture. Dave loved his family most of all. He so loved family night each Wednesday night.
David was preceded in death by his father, Lannie Bailey, Sr. his mother, Blanche I (Darr) Bailey, infant daughter, Lisa Dawn Bailey, brothers, Lannie Bailey, Jr., Robert Bailey, Jack Bailey, Richard Bailey; sister, Peggie Cisco; Brothers-in-law, Bob Cisco, and Bob Rich.
Left to honor his memory are his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Terry Bailey, Son, Phillip Bailey and wife Shirley, sister, Jenny Rich; granddaughters, Rachel Madl and husband Patrick, Julie Waldroop and husband Bryan, great-grandsons, Kade Allen Dollins, Christopher Mykel Madl, Trey Alexander Waldroop; and a great-granddaughter, Allie Parker Waldroop.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021, at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home Chapel, Altus, Oklahoma.
