Obituary for David Wayne Horton
David Wayne Horton David Wayne Horton, Age 42 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Monday, December 25, 2000 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1958 in Altus, Oklahoma to Leonard William Horton and Essie V. (Lewis) Horton. David attended the Altus Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1977. He served with the National Guard unit in Altus for several years. David owned and operated a lawn maintenance business in Altus. David enjoyed fishing and playing his guitar, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ in Altus. He is survived by three sisters; Onetta Willis and her husband Romie, Betty Madden and her husband Larry, May Horton all of Altus, Oklahoma; three brothers, Nathaniel Gooden of Bakersfield, California, Oscar Jones, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma, Leonard William Horton, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Pueblo, Colorado. He is also survived by a special friend Valencia Brown of Iowa; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Juanita Brown. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2001 in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Bostic officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
