David Tipton, age 55 of Oklahoma City and formerly of Altus, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
David was born in Altus on October 3, 1961 to his parents Orley Tipton and Neoma "Punkin" (Allen) Tipton. He grew up Altus and graduated from Altus High School in 1979 and went on the earn his Bachelor"s Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. After college David worked at the Altus Times News Paper and later he worked for the Oklahoma Journal Record in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Journal Record"s offices were next to the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and that building is now the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum, David was not at work at the time of the bombing. Most recently David worked for ADFITECH in Edmond as a Mortgage Loan Servicing Auditor. In his spare time David enjoyed keeping up with celebrity news and theatrical and TV entertainment.
Preceded in death by his mother, Neoma "Punkin" Tipton; his sister, Robby Clay Tipton; grandfather, Andy Tipton; and his grandmother, Francis Tipton; David is survived by his father, Orley Tipton and his wife Betty of Altus as well as other family members and many friends.
Funeral services for David Tipton will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Centennial Chapel at Altus City Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
