Obituary for Dawn Ellen Briscoe
Dawn Ellen Briscoe of Altus, OK.
Dawn grew up in Bay City, MI and later met her spouse William "Bill" Dean Briscoe in Oscoda, MI. They married February 20, 1982. Dawn and Bill had two children, Christopher Allen Ralph Briscoe and Amanda Jean Briscoe Newman. Dawn moved with her military spouse to Attwater, California at Castle AFB, back to Oscoda, Michigan at Wurtsmith AFB, and finally landed in Altus, Oklahoma at Altus AFB. Throughout her life, Dawn was devoted to working with kids, whether it was in her church, the local bowling league, or supporting her two children's extracurricular activities. Dawn hardly met a stranger, as her smile would light up any room she walked in to, and she would share her positivity with those around her. Dawn enjoyed singing, writing, and watching crime scene investigations. She enjoyed her gardens, butterflies, hummingbirds, and she had an affinity for cats. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, William "Bill" Briscoe of Altus; her daughter Amanda Newman, son-in- law Jeffrey Newman, and grandson Demarion Newman of Atlanta, GA; her sisters Sue Cassidy and Pamela Amley of Florida, and Kimberly Crawford of Michigan; and brother Robert Richardson of Michigan.
Dawn is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Allen Ralph Briscoe; and her parents, David Ralph and Joyce Litherland.
In lieu of flowers and a service, a memorial may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, organizations that mean a lot to our family.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Lowell- Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
A Tribute to Dawn's Kindness & Light
In gardens where the butterflies roam,
Dawn's laughter was a melody, a comforting home.
With every bloom and hummingbird's flight,
Her soul danced in the garden's light.
She penned her thoughts, a scribe so keen,
Wove tales of kindness, in lines unseen.
Her voice, a song, a hymn of love,
Echoed the chorus of heavens above.
In alleys where cats would softly tread,
She found beauty in whiskers, in eyes of the blessed.
A mother, a friend, a beacon so bright,
In her embrace, the world felt right.
Her smile, a beacon in rooms so wide,
Strangers no more, with Dawn by their side.
In every act, in every scene,
She lived her purpose, her heart serene.
So here's to Dawn, whose life did gleam,
A tapestry rich, a living dream.
May her legacy of love forever dance,
In every smile, in every chance.
