Delcena "Jackie" Harper Coble, age 88, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Mangum, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 31, 2014.
Mrs. Coble was born in Brinkman, Oklahoma on September 27, 1925, to William Daniel and Willie Bell (Chisum) Miller. After attending Eastview School, she married James W. Harper on September 6, 1941. Establishing their first home in Mangum, Jackie and Jim lived in several different locations due to Jim"s employment. After Jim"s death on January 17, 1966, she later married Melvin Coble in February 2004 and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2009. On May 1, 2009, Jackie moved to Oklahoma City, to be near her daughter, because of her failing health.
Preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, eight sisters and five brothers, she is survived by four children, Cleatus Harper and wife Alla Ray of Mangum, Dan Harper and wife Gloria of Mangum, Patti Green and husband Jerry of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Bobby Harper and wife Joyce of Mangum; four step-children, Mae Beresford and husband Gary of Altus, Marilyn Kay Adams and husband Charles of Texaco, New Mexico, Dennis Coble and wife Donna of Pampa, Texas and Bobby Joe Coble and wife Terri of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Joy Weaver of McLoud, Oklahoma and Patsy Youngblood of Mangum; one brother, Norman Miller of Amarillo, Texas along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jackie Harper Coble will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the Church of God with Pastor Martin Young officiating. Interment will follow at the Russell Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
The family will greet friends at Greer Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
