Obituary for Dequetta Hasty

Dequetta Hasty, 83, longtime resident of Altus, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.

The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2023 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus with Pastor Ellen Scott officiating.

Dequetta Hasty was born on March 23, 1940 to Leonard and Frances Bearden. She was raised in southwest Oklahoma, graduating with the class of 1958 from Altus High School. Dequetta married Perry Scott Hasty on November 22, 1963 in Vernon, Texas. They were married for 25 years and had two sons, Michael and Mickey. In her early years, Dequetta was employed at Hammond Concrete. Dequetta and Perry also raced greyhounds from 1964-1989. In 1999, Dequetta began operating AAA PowerTech Bail Bonds which she continued running until her passing. Dequetta enjoyed square dancing in her younger years. She also loved gardening and yard work, crocheting, shopping, and pursuing her career, but more than anything else, Dequetta adored spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She gave selflessly and will always be remembered for her dedication and unconditional love to each she adored.

Those left to honor Dequetta's memory are her two sons, Michael Hasty and wife, Tammi and Mickey Hasty and wife, Teri Lynn; brother, Gary Bearden; four grandchildren, Meagan Raines and husband Jesse, Cody Hasty and wife Shelby, Blake Hasty and wife Sierra, and Brookelyn Hasty; ten great- grandchildren, Kayden Raines, Hunter Raines, Dallon Hasty, Dawson Hasty, Daxton Hasty, Payton Hasty, Emily Hasty, Gunner Hasty, Ledger Kneisel, and Brynleigh Hasty; aunt, Marie Tinney; and beloved dog, Bambi.
