Obituary for Dianna Sue Cooley
Dianna Sue Cooley, longtime Altus resident and teacher died Monday, March 10, 1997 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, March 13, 1997 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home chapel with Ed Lobaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. She was born ofn February 7, 1947, to Ray and Mary Helen Walkup. she attended LaCasa and Gould Public schools. In 1965 she married Vernon Cooley and lived in Hollis, moving to Altus in 1980. She graduated from W.O.S.C. in 1976 and finished her teaching degree in 1978 at Cameron University. She had taught in Hollis, Southside, and Wilson Elementary Schools. She had spent the last 11 years at Will Rogers teaching first grade. She was also and accomplished seamstress, and an active member of Beta Sigma Phi. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to one of the following; The Sue Cooley Schoarship at W.O S.C. Jackson County Memorial Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include Mary Helen "Gray" Walkup of Hollis, Oklahoma; children Brenda Williams and husband David of garden City, Kansas, Becky Roser, of Carmi, Illinois, Ryan Cooley of Altus, Oklahoma; brother, Ricky Walkup of Pampa, Texas, sister Connie Scott of Waco, Texas; grandchildren Seth Williams, Skylar Williams, Kai Roser, Amanda Scott, Danica Williams; former husband Vernon Cooley and special friend Tom Moore.

She was preceded in death by father Ray Walkup.
