Dixie was born January 21, 1936, in Headrick, Oklahoma, to Robert and Nellie (Cassidy) Marsh and was the youngest of seven children. She married Billy Joe Hamilton in 1952 and had three sons, Hank, Robert "Buck", and Darrell. Her three sons were the light of her life. She later worked as a Customer Service Representative at the Plaza Bank in Bartlesville.
As a young girl, Dixie picked cotton during the hard times in Oklahoma. She loved to travel to Mississippi and Louisiana with her husband Jimmie. They also enjoyed going to Colorado to camp and fish. Jimmie and Dixie loved to dance and socialize with their friends every weekend.
Dixie was a thirty-one year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. She loved her church and was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Altus.
Dixie is survived by her husband Jimmie Anderson of the home in Altus; two sons, Hank Hamilton and wife Virginia of Dewey, Oklahoma, and Robert "Buck" Hamilton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Mickey Gore of Atoka, Oklahoma; one step-son, Jimmie "Eddie" Anderson, Jr. and wife Pat of Altus; one step-daughter, Tammie Crowder and husband Piney, also of Altus; two sisters, Neva Jo Crain and husband Hilton of Arlington, Texas, and Peggy June Hamilton of Durant, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven nephews, and eight nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nellie Marsh, one son, Darrell Glen Hamilton, one brother, Denver Marsh, three sisters, Jessie Mae Thornton Dollins, Bobbie Jones, and Nelina "Snorts" Anderson, and her first husband, Billy Joe Hamilton.
