Don L. McCombs, age 60, of Warren, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 14, 2014, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Don was born in Altus, Oklahoma on August 2, 1953, to Delmer and Onie (Walker) McCombs. Growing up in the Warren Community, Don attended Navajo School, where he graduated from, in 1971. Shortly after graduation, Don married the love of his life, Brenda Knox, on August 7, 1971, and they spent the next forty-two wonderful years together before his untimely death. Establishing their first home in Headrick, Don worked for Mock Brothers Feed Lot for several years. In 1976, the family moved to Warren where he resided at the time of his death. Through the years, Don worked for several farm implement dealerships in the Altus area and was a butcher for Homeland. In 1985, Don began working for Altus Peanut Company until 2005 when he became a contract specialist at Altus Air Force Base. In his spare time, Don enjoyed hunting deer and elk, fishing, helping with stock shows and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Don is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; two daughters, Stephanie Angelly and husband Melvin of Warren and Heather Bonds and husband Neil of Altus; four grandchildren, Ally Angelly, Kace Angelly, Neely Bonds and Lyla Bonds, two brothers, Keith McCombs of Altus and his two daughters, Allison Biscoe and husband B.G. of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Rachel Terry and husband Matt of Duncan and Scott McCombs of Warren and his two children, Kaden McCombs of Altus and Karlee McCombs of Altus; his mother-in-law, Laveta Knox of Headrick; two brothers-in-law, Kip Knox and wife Crystal and their daughter, Kayla Knox of Headrick and Ted Knox of Headrick and his children, Kevin Knox and wife Karen of Altus and Tisha Knox of Headrick along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Don McCombs will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Waugh officiating. Interment will follow at the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
