Obituary for Donna Jean McConnell
Donna J. McConnell, age 74, of Altus, passed away Monday evening, August 3, 2015, at Norman Specialty Hospital, after an extended illness, in Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. McConnell was born on October 4, 1940, in Lilly, Pennsylvania, to Fred and Stella (Stevens) Law. She graduated from Cresson High School, Cresson, PA. in 1958 and married Paul Fredrick McConnell on December 24, 1959, at Hagerstown, Maryland. Mrs. McConnell moved to various assignments while her husband served in the U.S. Air Force, until the couple retired in 1976 and made their home in Altus, where Mr. McConnell died on January 10, 1993.
Mrs. McConnell was a homemaker and a military wife who enjoyed traveling with her husband. Her lifelong hobby and passion was gardening and other landscaping work, but she also enjoyed needlework and was an avid reader who also passed on a love of books.
Her survivors include two daughters: Kim McConnell, Lawton, Oklahoma and Tammy McConnell-Williams, Cresson, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Robert Law and Joseph Law and her sisters Evelyn DeLozier and Mary Berry.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. McConnell"s name to St. Jude"s Children"s Hospital.
A private family burial will be held at Restlawn Cemetery, Altus, OK at a later date.
