Donnie Dee Burns, 78, a resident of Russell, Oklahoma passed away at his home on May 3, 2024. Donnie was born on March 14, 1946, in Altus, to James William Burns and Norma (Rogers) Burns. Donnie attended Centralvue and Mangum Schools. He married Linda Kay Ballew on January 28, 1965, in Wellington, Texas. Of this marriage the two were blessed with three children: Scotty, Chris, and Tammie. Donnie spent his life farming and working as a truck mechanic for Jewett Scott Trucking, Passmore Trucking, and Prime Trucking. Donnie was a simple man, who loved country living, tending to his garden, fishing, caring for his cows, and spoiling his fur babies, Bella, Kady and Riley. He loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them. He was a master at the barbeque and he and his steaks will be sorely missed.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents; Brother, Jimmy Lee Burns; and Granddaughter, Megan Lynn Burns.
Left to honor his memory is his wife, Linda Kay Burns of Russell, Oklahoma; Sons, Scotty Burns of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Chris Burns of Hollis, Oklahoma; Daughter, Tammie Burns of Russell, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Aaron Burns and wife Courtney of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Kelcie Burns and Partner Kaylee Espinosa of Altus, Oklahoma and Kaylie Burns of Mangum, Oklahoma; Great Grandchildren, Tinlee and Kit Burns of Weatherford, Oklahoma.
