Dora was born October 17, 1918 in Gholson, Texas to Bob and Rachel Gifford. They moved to the Altus area when Dora was a small child. She graduated from Altus High School. On November 7, 1936, at the Presbyterian Church in Altus, Oklahoma, Dora and John R. Ivey were united in marriage. R. were instrumental in building the Church at its present location. Dora was a member of the Senior Saints and enjoyed working in many capacities for her church.
