UECKERT
Doris Ueckert, age 105, of Mangum, passed away Thursday evening, March 12, 2015, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Ueckert was born August 7, 1909, in Brinkman, Oklahoma, to W.A. (Bill) and Rose Lampert. She entered school at age 6 and finished high school at 18. Doris was not interested in further school. She was in love with the "love of her life" Walton Ueckert, so they married August 30, 1930, at the Brinkman Methodist Church parsonage by Pastor Leroy Simmons. They lived in Willow, Oklahoma for two months, then moved to the farm west of Willow, one mile east of Haystack Mountain, and lived there forty years. They raised wheat, cotton, feed and cattle. In 1970, they sold the farm and moved into Willow again. Walton and Doris continued to work and farm their land in Brinkman until 1989. At that time, Walton retired due to failing health. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Willow and very seldom missed church, come rain, shine or snow. A lot of living and love filled their marriage of 62 years, before Walton passed away August 7, 1992.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walton, four brothers, Clifford and wife Edna, Edward and wife Cuba, Eugene (Shorty) and wife Marie, Gilbert and wife Faye; one sister, Corene Pittman. She is survived by nieces and nephews and a host of great friends and neighbors.
Funeral services for Doris Ueckert will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Willow Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Northrip officiating. Interment will follow at the Willow Cemetery under the directions of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
