Obituary for Dorotha Irene Evans
Dorotha Irene Evans was born May 20, 1925 at Martha, Oklahoma. She died September 8th, 1996 at Altus, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Ira Stanton and Gracie Adeline (Cox) Lankford. She was a lifetime resident of Jackson County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus. She had been employed at J.C. Penney's over 20 years until she retired. She married George Hawley August 4, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1967. She married Ben Evans December 31, 1970 at Knox City, TX.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 1996 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Milam and Rev. Roy McDaniel officiating. Interment will be in the Martha Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include: her spouse, Ben Evans; two brothers, L. S. Lankford of Altus, OK and Kenneth Lankford of Vernon, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her first husband; her parents; one infant daughter; four brothers and two sisters.
