Obituary for Dorothy Lucille Rickey
Dorothy Lucille Rickey, age 73, of Altus, Oklahoma was born February 3rd, 1923 in Cooperton, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late M. S. and Affulers (Wynn) Marsh. She was a lifelong resident of Southwest Oklahoma. Mrs. Rickey passed away Sunday, December 29th, 1996 ine at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 1996, in the the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 1996, in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
On December 28, 1940, she and Edgar Allen Rickey were united in marriage at Hobart, OK. Mr. Rickey preceded her in death, April 7, 1986. Mrs. Rickey was Assistant Manager for Sears in Altus for many years.
Survivors include: two children, Joan Stiles and husband Terry of Altus, OK and Karon Leys and husband William of Helena, AL; three brothers, Roy Marsh of Snyder, OK, Melvin Marsh of Altus, OK and Albert Marsh of Bellflower, CA; three sisters, Ola Floyd of Cushing, OK, Ora Noble of Mountain Park, OK and Madell Kopp of Snyder, OK; eight grandchildren, Debie Charlick of Missoula, MT, Cindy Quakenbush of Longmont, CO, Becky Howarth of Westminster, CO, Suzi Stiles of Portland, OR, Missy Matney of Windsor, CO, Richard Dale of Shelton, WA, Darlene Leys of Helena, AL and William Leys, Jr. of Mobile, AL; 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Edgar Rickey, 4-7-1986; two sisters, Lula Riggs and Reba DeShazo; one brother, Riley Marsh; one great-grandson, Paul Jungers.
