Obituary for Dorothy May Jones
Dorothy May Jones,84, most precious wife, mother, Grandma (Mimi), Great Grandma, Aunt, and friend, passed from her life on January 9, 2021.

Dorothy was born to Dixie and Rosson Bradley on September 29, 1936, in Geary, Oklahoma. She was the second of seven children born to the Bradley family. Dorothy was raised in a small farming community near Lawton, Oklahoma, called Punkin Center.

On June 1, 1953, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Dorothy married her childhood sweetheart William Franklin Jones in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Even after sixty-seven years of marriage, William still referred to Dorothy as his 'my sweet bride. "

In 1954, William joined the United States Air Force. While Dorothy may not have enlisted herself, she proudly served her country as a military wife. She was a devoted wife and mother. While the Jones family served in the military, they lived in many places around the United States, such as Mountain Park, Idaho, Roswell, New Mexico, Amarillo, Texas, Abilene, Texas, and finally home to Altus, Oklahoma. While moving was hard, Dorothy made lifelong friends at every military base they lived. These friendships turned into a sisterhood. Dorothy was a fantastic cook and a devoted mother who always put her family before herself. Every year she looked forward to attending the Bradley family reunion, where she loved being around her siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maintaining a close bond with her family was very important to Dorothy.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Jones; both her parents, a brother, Don; and a sister, Patricia.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, William, son, William H. Jones; two daughters, Jenny Kirk and husband Bob, Vicky Arnold and husband, Ron; sisters, Louella Rushing, Gail Pike; brothers, Ron Bradley, Bill Bradley and wife Shirley; her precious grandchildren, Angel Lisa, Crystal, Robin, Tim, Daniel Paul, Doug, Gery, Jeremiah, Karina, Kimberly, Kara, Robbie, Stephanie, Terry, fellow military wives who were like sisters to Dorothy, Romana Kirkpatrick and Anna Johnson, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. And so important to her fur babies Ruff and Princess.

All of these she loved and touched deeply. We are also so thankful for the Carter Care Angels nurses, who loved her like their own.

She is one of the greatest blessings of our lives. There are no words that exist that can come close to describing how much we love and cherish her and will miss her.

Mask are going to be required for the visitation and graveside for Dorothy, as well as social distancing will be strongly encouraged. The family has asked that if you are showing symptoms or not feeling well, please stay home and sign the online guest book.
