Funeral service for Ealmer Robert Klippel, age 81 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Ron Babbit and Sam Garner will officiate.
Ealmer Robert Klippel was born the son of Henry Klippel and Hada Mason Klippel on February 19, 1934 in Pocasset, Oklahoma. He died on January 20, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Ealmer graduated from Tuttle High School then attended Oklahoma A & M for one year. He married Wanada Cruzan on January 12, 1954, in Tuttle. In 1956, he entered the United States Air Force. After returning from the Air Force, in 1961, he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Ealmer served for twenty two years and the last two years he provided security for Lieutenant Governor Spencer Bernard. While in the patrol, he was instrumental in the founding of the Oklahoma State Troopers Association and served as the first president. After leaving the highway patrol, he was elected District 2 County Commissioner for Grady County and served fourteen years. Ealmer was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ, Lions Club, and other numerous boards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hada Klippel and one son, Keith Klippel.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Wanada Klippel; son Robby Klippel; daughter and husband Becky and Noel Lambert; daughter and husband Sandy and Wayne Leu; granddaughter Stefanie Lee and Josh; grandson Dillan Leu and Ariel; grandson Colton Leu; grandson Chris Klippel; granddaughter Jennifer Klippel; several great grandchildren; three sisters Wanda and Jerry Sipe, Edith and Lex Pierce, and Hada Terrell.
Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery, Pocasset, OK. Services will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
