Obituary for Earnest Elmore Searle
Funeral Services for Earnest Elmore Searle, age 71, longtime resident of Altus, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 1996 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Mr. Searle passed away September 8, 1996 in Iowa Park, Texas. He was born July 4th, 1925 in Lyman, OK, to Elmer E. and Julia Iona (Brotherton) Searle. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict as a Gunner 3rd Mate in the Navy and was a SeaBee.

On March 29, 1946, he married the late Doris Marie Blocker in Pampa, TX. Mr. Searle worked for the Pampa Daily News before moving to Texarkana, TX and working for the Texarkana Gazette. He moved to Altus in 1970 and retired from the Altus Times Democrat Newspaper in 1990, where he was an advertising account representative.

Survivors include: five children, Ti Ann Taylor of Iowa Park, TX, Celia Powers of Jackson, TN, Bunnie Chapman Doyle of Fairbanks, AK, Suzette Crim of Arlington, TX and Glen Searle of Pampa, TX; one brother-in-law, Roger Blocker of Altus, Oklahoma; three sisters, Marie Jeffers of Borrego Springs, CA, Marguerite Martin and Billie James, both of Pampa, TX; one sister-in-law, Helen Payne of Sugarland, TX; 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Doris Marie Searle, January 23, 1995; two sisters and two brothers.
