Edna Compton


Edna Compton was born November 30, 1906 at Vera, Kansas. She died August 23, 1991 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She married Otis Compton August 20, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1952. She had been a resident of Altus since 1949. She had worked for Oscar Dobbs for 27 years before retiring in 1975. She was a long time and active member of the Altus First Baptist Church.

Services are scheduled for 1:30 pm Sunday August 25, 1991 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with the Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Mrs. Compton is survived by her brother S. R. Ferguson of Wichita, Kansas; three nieces, Janice Lurie of Delaware; Carol Peters of California; Bobbie Tracy of Washington, D.C.; one nephew, James Ferguson of California.

Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her husband Otis Compton, March 11, 1952.
